4th of July Parade Evangelism

July 4th is always a good day to share the gospel and a parade was the perfect occasion.
This July 4th we went to Cannon Beach where thousands gather for their annual parade. We were joined by four others from
the Cannon Beach Bible Church for an incredible morning of evangelism.

Handing at tracts at a July 4th parade

What a wonderful trail this young man is leaving behind! Look at all the people standing there reading about sin and the solution God provided to the problem of sin.

After the parade we continued to hand out tracts

Before the parade started God brought a man forward with whom I shared the gospel 1to1. Even after the parade ended we were able to continued to hand out tracts.

As always people read the gospel

What a gorgeous day the Lord gave us!
Plus thousands of people who needed to hear or read the gospel.

Continuing after the parade starts

"Truly, truly I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life." - John 5:24

How evangelism at a parade works - For a parade that starts at 11AM, we'll start at 9:00 AM in the assembly area. It's a good place to talk with people who are just waiting around. About an hour before the parade starts we begin walking the parade route handing out tracts. We have fun. We start conversations with some people. And if someone expresses an interest, we'll talk about the Bible, sin and God's great gift to us. Once the parade starts it is difficult to have a conversation, so we focus on getting the gospel into people's hands by handing out tracts. When the parade ends we're usually pretty tired but we keep handing out tracts to people who are leaving the parade.

We do not recruit for a specific church. We do not promote a denomination. We do not ask for money. We do not sell anything.
Our purpose is solely to share the good news about the free gift God has given to us.

I don't keep a count of how many people we talk with. However, I can tell how many tracts we give out because I know how many we start with, and how many we have at the end. At this parade we gave out over 2,000 tracts.
